Stories for Children Magazine's April Game of the Month

Stories for Children Magazine is happy to announce the April Game of the Month.

Get your family together. Have the kids climb on your lap and let's see if you can guess the answers. This fun interactive game will get anyone in the mood for Spring and ready for some Easter fun!

Visit http://storiesforchildrenmagazine.org/FamiliesMatter.aspx to start playing.

Also, don't forget to stop by our SFC Contest page and check out our Wacky Dream Story Contest. All ages can enter. Here's a bit more about it:

Send Stories for Children Magazine a short story for children ages 12 and under about a wacky dream. You can either write about a dream you've actually had or about a dream one of your characters has. It's up to you, but remember the story has to be for children, which means no sexual content, violence, or anything related to drugs.

Easter Family Fun

For many families, Easter is a time honored tradition when the earth is reborn and loved ones reunite. A time for honey baked ham, mashed potatoes and, of course, chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate.

No matter what you do, this is a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with your family. Whether it be coloring Easter eggs or just gathering around the table for a huge meal, Easter is a time for forgiveness and new beginnings.
Don’t have any family traditions? It’s not too late to start some. Many cities are hosting events that are fun, family friendly and usually free. If you’re in the New York area on Easter Sunday (April 12th), grab your best Easter bonnet and join in on the fun. The Easter Bonnet Parade runs from 10 a.m - 4 p.m. There’s also a free Easter egg hunt from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m., Easter egg rolling race, face painting, music and much, much more.

Want your family to be a part of a tradition that dates back to 1878? Come join the fun on the White House lawn April 13 from 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Here you can enjoy the hunt for Easter eggs, face painting and even a visit from the big fluffy guy himself -- the Easter Bunny.

If your kids love animals, the Miami Seaquarium is the place to be this Easter weekend. Along with its annual Easter egg hunt, Seaqurium is also hosting five acres of Bunnypalooza fun for the whole family with inflatable rides, games, music and so much more.

All aboard for the Easter Bunny Express. That’s right, if you’re in the Vermont, New Jersey, Ohio, New Mexico, Sante Fe or Arizona areas, hop onto one of the special tourist trains running throughout the day. I even heard a special visitor is also going to be along for the ride.

Even if you’re not in any of these areas, don’t sweat it. Check out your own local listings for special Easter events. Most zoos, museums and aquariums will take advantage of the Easter season to host family friendly events. If there’s nothing special going on in your city, plan your own family fun. Even if it’s just a walk in the park, a game of some sort, or simply reading a story together, the time you spend as a family is all that really matters. Have a Happy Easter.
