Book Review: Rocket Town
Author: Bob Logan
Boardbook Ages 1- up
This is a darling board book for young children and will be particularly interesting to boys. Who doesn't like rockets as a young boy?
The board book is sturdy with bright illustrations. It incorporates counting and easy words for a fun story and an introduction of basic concepts for the young listener. Parents will appreciate the illustrations, the concepts of counting, colors, and opposites that are introduced to the child building a basic foundation for reading.
My Impressions: The book is going to be interesting and fun for most little listeners. The illustrations while excellent, for me were a tench too busy. There is so much to see on each page that it may not hold the interest of the young listener. On the flip side, the illustrations give parents a grand opportunity to point out important aspects of the picture which can engage the child even more.
The words are basic and can be managed by the older child learning to read for the first time. The author has done a bang up job of reaching out with action and words. I would recommend this book especially for little boys.
