Fall Ideas for Kids
Fall is a great time to do family activities with the kids. Here are just a few ideas from free to a moderate fee.
Activities that keep kids moving are good for families and good for heart health. Hiking in your nearby park or traveling to the nearest State park is one way to get out and get moving in the fall. Temperatures remain moderate in many parts of the country so weather should not keep kiddos from being outside and moving. State parks often have trails from easy to moderate so even young children can enjoy the hike. Many parks also have nature centers, craft ideas, and some even offer horseback riding or bike trails.
If you don't have a park nearby, try visiting the zoo. Walking is so healthy and the animals enjoy visitors at any time of the year.
Staying home during the fall weather may be perfect especially if it is rainy. Making crafts for Halloween and upcoming Thanksgiving holidays may offer kids the chance to use their crafting skills. There are so many craft kits and ideas for children of all ages at your local Hobby Lobby or Micheals and both have online sites making it easy to shop for the items you need for your next fall crafting party.
Roasting pumpkin seeds also may top your list of fall activities for this season. Rinse those seeds from you carved pumpkin, salt and roast in an oven set at 250 degrees. Bake until just golden brown, cool and serve.
